A product of the Netherlands, Edam is a semi-hard cow’s milk cheese matured between four weeks to ten months. Edam is well known and is easily identified by it’s coat of red wax encasing a pale yellow cheese. It has a nutty, slightly salty flavour and is very mild and has no real smell. It has a low fat content and is popular with dieters!!
